The Palestinian NGO Network deplores the Ministry of Health’s statement issued on Sep.13th
2017 which was offensive towards the Palestinian civil society organizations, such organizations
aims to empower the Palestinian citizen especially in his homeland.
The Network emphasized in a press release that the “vocabulary and expressions used by the
Ministry indicate a clear misunderstanding of the relationship between the civil society and the
government, betraying national institutions which has given effort at a national and
professional level.
Moreover, the Network has added that the usage of terms such as “national institutions”,
“suspicious and poisonous campaigns” and other similar terms from the same contexts were
mentioned in the statement is considered to be an incitement against the Palestinian society
organizations, during the time where these institutions were subjected to fierce attacks by the
occupation and its various apparatuses in order to combat its national and developmental role
to strengthen the role of the Palestinian citizen. In addition to emphasizing the need to resort
to the method of dialogue and constructive criticism in the event of any observations of the
ministry over an of the existing institutions or campaigns, calling the Ministry as well as the
Minister Dr.Jawad Awad to apologize for what has been stated in the statement.
