AMAN Coalition Calls on the Government to Disseminate its anti-COVID Vaccine Distribution Plan

Ramallah – The Coalition for Integrity and Accountability (AMAN) called on the government to publish its plan for the distribution of anti-COVID vaccine to citizens. It reiterated the importance of using accurate and comprehensive databases of the targeted segments in order to respond to citizens’ needs. The database must account for the groups that need the vaccine most, their places of residency and the centers where they will receive the vaccines according to a predictable time frame, as per World Health Organization’s standards.

Following the Council of Ministers’ Resolution, no (87) on the vaccine’s distribution plan, AMAN Coalition sent a letter to the Minister of Health, Dr. May Kile, to build on the lessons learned during the pandemic. The letter underlined the importance of establishing accurate databases and observation of transparency in the planning and distribution of the vaccine in order to promote citizens’ trust in government’s measures.

In the same letter, AMAN invited government entities, the private and civil sector, UNRWA and other stakeholders to distribute the roles relating to the necessary databases, which should include the names of targeted groups and their places of residency. It invited all stakeholders to play a proactive role to confront the potential challenges relating to community culture and citizens’ level of awareness of the importance of the vaccine.
