Ramallah – The Coalition for Accountability and Integrity (AMAN) has launched a campaign to strengthen control on the prices of basic goods and services. In addition to preventing exploitation of the state of emergency, the campaign ensures equitable and quality delivery of commodities and services to citizens.
The campaign aims at encouraging citizens to exercise their right to report any violations or price manipulation on the market. To strengthen compliance with decisions of the Ministry of National Economy, the campaign assesses how committed merchants are to declared prices and stresses the importance of codes of professional conduct for businesses. It further strengthens the role of chambers of commerce in control on commodity and service prices.
The campaign features posters on social media platforms, radio spots, and short videos. It falls in the context of the state of emergency, suspended operation of most economic activities, deteriorating economic conditions, and dire need to promote oversight and prevent exploitation of the current situation.
