Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Humanitarian Aid Distribution in Gaza

The project implementation phase occurred between 01 February 2026 – 31 January 2027

The ongoing humanitarian situation in Gaza, including large-scale displacement, changes in shelter structures, and increased aid flows, continues to generate urgent needs related to governance of humanitarian assistance, community oversight, accountability mechanisms, and protection of affected populations. These dynamics require sustained and expanded interventions to strengthen integrity, transparency, and accountability in aid distribution, alongside legal awareness, legal assistance, and technical support to humanitarian actors and communities.

Through these projects, AMAN aims to implement a comprehensive set of interventions focusing on:

  • Institutionalizing the application of the Anti-Corruption Guide for the Management and Distribution of Humanitarian Aid within international and local humanitarian actors;
  • Strengthening oversight and accountability mechanisms, including complaint systems and PSEA safeguards;
  • Building the capacity of humanitarian actors, lawyers, and community structures to promote fair, transparent, and accountable aid delivery;
  • Empowering affected communities, including women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups, to understand and exercise their rights related to aid governance.

Project Outcome:

Integrity, transparency, accountability, and protection principles are institutionalized within the systems, procedures, and practices of international and local humanitarian actors, legal professionals, and community-level structures involved in humanitarian aid distribution in Gaza.
