A Children’s March in Bethlehem on Wasta, and Favoritism

The Generations’ Beacon (Nibras) Youth Association, in partnership with the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity (AMAN) have organized, on Monday the 2nd of December 2013, a march against cronyism and corruption with the participation of about 200 children at the city center of Bethlehem.

Mr. Ibrahim Mubarak, the Association’s Executive Director, said: “The march aims to send a message to Palestinian officials opposing cronyism and requesting that corrupt officials and embezzlers of public fund are to be held accountable.” He also demanded that the Anti-Corruption Act is put into force.


The march commenced from the former Ministry of Education Circle toward the Church of minister of culture Nativity. Participating children chanted slogans against the corrupt and demanded that officials must fight corruption in all its forms.
