Ramallah-The Civil Society Forum for Enhancing Good Governance in the Security Sector condemned the assault on Judge Nabil An-Natsheh by a Palestinian National Security Force in the city of Hebron. The Forum denounced the incident and declared that it constitutes a violation of the judicial power dignified prestige in Palestine and an assault against the justice system, rule of law, human rights and human dignity.
In a letter sent to the President of the Palestine Judges Club Society, Mr. Counselor Osama Al-Kilani, the Forum expressed its solidarity and support for the demands of the Judges Club Society, calling the competent authorities to take legal procedures and hold the perpetrators accountable to preserve the dignity and independence of the judiciary. The Forum also called for taking all required legal penal procedures in accordance with legislations against anyone proved to be involved in the assault.
It is worth mentioning that the Forum joins ten organizations, namely: Al-Haq Organization, the Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy “MIFTAH”, The Palestinian Independent Commission for Human Rights, Human Rights and Democracy Media Center “SHAMS”, the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Torture, the Palestinian Center for Strategic Research and Studies, Birzeit University - Law Institute, Jerusalem Center for Legal Aid and Human Rights, Center for the Defense of Civil Liberties and Rights, and the Coalition for Integrity and Accountability (AMAN).
