Under the Slogan "Save the Country".. AMAN Coalition Announces Nominations for Integrity and Anti-Corruption Award 2018

Within AMAN Coalition continued efforts to promote the culture of integrity in the Palestinian society and to motivate citizens to engage and report on anti-corruption efforts, the Coalition announced nominations for the 13th Integrity and Anti-Corruption Award of 2018 to start this day. Note that AMAN has been granting this award since 2007 on annual basis at the National Integrity Action it organizes to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day.

Expanding the Target Groups from Four to Eight

In order to encourage the Palestinian institutions in various sectors to engage in integrity-promoting and anti-corruption efforts, AMAN's Board of Directors decided to extend the award sectors to include four new categories namely: Integrity and Anti-Corruption Award for Public Institutions, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Award for Local Authorities, Integrity Award for Public Shareholding Companies as well as Integrity and Anti-Corruption Award for Palestinian Community Organizations/CSOs, in addition to the previous four categories, namely the Integrity Award for employees of Public Sector and Local Authorities, Integrity Award for the Best Investigative report, Integrity Award for the Best specialized Research on Anti-Corruption and the Award for Best Radio Accountability Program.

Nomination for Public Sector and Local Authorities Integrity Award

All employees in the public institutions that receive their budgets, totally or partially, from the public budget, including the ministries and their affiliated bodies, public non-ministerial institutions as well as employees and members of local authorities (municipalities, local councils and joint service councils) can be nominated or they can nominate others for this award. This award will be granted to public sector employees and local authorities who have had initiatives to promote integrity and anti-corruption or those who have unclosed corruption cases whether they have reported these cases or they were eye-witnesses.

Nomination for Media Sector Integrity Award

This award was designated to media professionals who conducted objective and courageous investigations that contributed to unclosing corruption cases, provided that the media material should have been published in one of the media outlet in Arabic or English throughout December to November 2018 and had an impact on the society.
In addition, there will be an opportunity for any courageous media accountability program, which covers the same program-period to compete for nomination to be awarded for the best media accountability program. Nomination would be personal in terms of the investigative survey while the best media accountability program would be based on the AMAN Coalition’s nomination.

Award Nomination for Best Research on Anti-Corruption Areas

Through awarding the best research on anti-corruption and good governance, AMAN Coalition seeks, to engage and motivate young researchers, including Palestinian university students, to develop researches on anti-corruption, integrating the youth into the integrity system and culture in the Palestinian society as well as engaging them in the efforts paid to combat corruption in the Palestinian society. This award aims at creating a counter-culture that rejects corruption practices. The nominated research should consider the proper research principles, it should not have been published earlier and it should address one of the corruption topics in the Palestinian society or the system of integrity, transparency and accountability in the public sector, or it should show the impact and results of corruption on one of the segments or categories of the Palestinian society.
