The Coaliton for Accountability and Intergrity called the competent parties to expedite the regulations regarding import and export transit through Gaza bording crossings, and to monitor and inspect the movement of goods and to enhance the commitmett to the Palestinian law.
In a letter sent to Nazmi Muhanna, General Director of the Adminstrative Conrtol of the Palestinian Borders and Crossings, AMAN emphasized the importance of activating the Public Health and Saftey Sector, and the Palestinian Customs in monitoring borders especially at the Karam Abu Salem border, and to strengthen the role of Ministry Inspectors over import and export transit, and to decide whether or not to allow such goods.
The AMAN Coalition hopes that unifying the administration of border crossings will facilitate the lives of citizens in the Gaza Strip, in terms of facilitating the freedom of movement of individuals and the transit of good and the need of circulating instructions to adopt all measures or steps towards the Palestinian Consumer Protection, as a prospective and important step to stop the expolitation of the hand-over phase by some traders in importing goods which are not applicable to technical standards and specifications to obtain “quick wins” at the expense of the health and saftey of citizens according to law, especially after some informations reached to AMAN regarding entering expired or near-finished consumer goods.
