AMAN urges The Palestinian Cabinet to resume publishing its decisions through their official website. The CSTPBT calls on the government to formulate a comprehensive plan of action on the rationalization of public expenditures

The Coalition for Accountability and Integrity AMAN has sent a letter to the Secretary General for the Cabinet urging him to reactivate the publication of the Cabinets decisions through their website after its publication was disrupted since early April this year.

In its message, AMAN emphasized that the publication of decisions through the website is consistent with the governments stated policy and with the national policy agenda that calls for a more open government.

On the other hand, the Civil Society team for Public Budget Transparency (CSTPBT) sent a letter to the Prime Minister expressing their hope that the government would formulate a comprehensive and integrated plan of action on the rationalization of public expenditures in which the objectives are set, and to put such a plan in coordination with all relevant parties and publish it to the citizens as soon as it is approved.

In its letter, CSTPBT commended the Governments orientation towards austerity and rationalization, which has been translated in the form of continuing resolutions, starting with resolution 34/64/17 of 2015 on rationalization of expenditures and resolution No. 03/115/17 on increased revenues and rationalization of expenditures made by the Minister of Finance on April, 12, 2017 about the rationalization of expenditures, including the reduction of the salary bill, and work to improve the mechanism of calculation of funds cut off from the Israeli side and reformation of the health sector.

At the end of the letter, the CSTPBT called the government to be more open to civil society and to CSTPBT in particular, ensuring CSTPBT readiness to partner with the government and providing all analytical   reports, financial studies and experiences to contribute to the preparation of a comprehensive and fair austerity plan towards achieving a sustainable development and assuring that the priorities of the marginalized and poor people are met.
