AMAN Coalition Addresses President of the State of Palestine

As a part of AMAN’s commitment to protect the Palestinian national resources including
natural resources of the Palestinian people, the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity –
AMAN has sent a letter to Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, demanding
all competent parties to address European embassies ( Greece, Cyprus and Italy) which have
signed an agreement with the Israeli government to construct a gas line between Israel and
Europe, as well as addressing the European Union to warn them against the consequences of
the agreement, dismissing the rights of the Palestinians in investing and exploiting the
Palestinian gas and oil fields, since it is a right of the Palestinians to pursue the political, legal
and moral of any parties to assist the Israeli occupation in attacking the Palestinians rights.


“You have recently signed the United Nations Convention on the Law of the sea which serves to
impose the sovereignty of the State of Palestine on its sea, including territorial waters, exclusive
economic zone, therefore, this signature reflects the concern for the right to access water, fish
resources and other natural resources, including gas and oil if available, and your excellence
have issued a statement to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, declaring the maritime
borders of the State of Palestine on the basis of the provisions of this convention, and claiming
that the water borders of the State of Palestine should not be violated in addition to demanding
compensation for the exploitation of the Palestinian resources under occupation
” Mr.Abdel Qader Husseini, chair person of AMAN’s Board of Directors addressed President Mahmoud Abbas in AMAN's letter. 


Moreover, Mr. Husseini added that such convention between the Israeli side and the European
countries violates the historical rights of the Palestinian people in their natural resources,
whereas such law prohibits the occupying state from destroying the natural resources of the
occupied country.
