Ramallah – The Coalition for Integrity and Accountability (AMAN) and the Ministry of Social Development have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement aimed at strengthening integrity, transparency, and good governance in the management of social services.
Minister of Social Development, Dr. Samah Hamad, stressed that the agreement is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of services provided to the most vulnerable groups. She noted that it also seeks to protect staff from potential risks of corruption, particularly in light of the difficult conditions facing the Palestinian people. According to Dr. Hamad, strengthening resilience requires sustaining vital services—chief among them social protection programs—and the partnership with AMAN will help develop preventive tools and specialized studies that enhance program efficiency and build public trust in the social protection system.
AbdelQader Husseini, Chair of AMAN’s Board of Directors, explained that through this MoU, the Coalition aims to deepen its complementary partnership with the Ministry and contribute to better public sector management. This will be achieved through sharing expertise, carrying out targeted studies, and conducting awareness-raising activities that foster a work environment rooted in integrity and sound governance.
Under the terms of the MoU and Cooperation Agreement, the two parties will collaborate in assessing and mitigating corruption risks, producing specialized research to improve the effectiveness of social protection programs, and launching awareness campaigns to strengthen integrity in poverty alleviation and social welfare services. The agreement also provides for joint workshops and training programs for Ministry staff.
This cooperation reflects the urgent need to unify efforts between government institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector to advance Palestine’s national integrity system.
