Demanding the Implementation of Court Decisions and Upholding the Rule of Law:
AMAN Coalition demands respect for the rule of law by officials in the security establishment and the implementation of court decisions to release detainees, including AMAN Coalition’s Accountant Fakhr Al-Rantissi
Ramallah – The Coalition for Accountability and Integrity (AMAN) demanded adherence to the rule of law, including the Palestinian court decisions to release detainees. It also called to stop the decision to continue the illegal detention of persons whom the Palestinian judiciary had decided to release, the last of which was the decision to release Fakhr Al-Rantissi, who has been the accountant of AMAN Coalition for more than ten years.
AMAN Coalition stresses that the failure to implement court decisions is considered a crime punishable by the Palestinian law and violates international agreements and conventions ratified by Palestine and which are binding upon it.
AMAN Coalition calls upon the Ministry of Justice, Public Prosecution Office (PPO), and the Military Judiciary to monitor the implementation of court decisions and play a more active role in strengthening the protection of the rule of law and human rights. The Coalition also calls on all relevant human rights parties to intervene immediately to release the detainees and press towards taking legal action against those who refuse to implement court decisions, in order to prevent the undermining of the rule of law.
