AMAN conducted a special workshop for journalists in Gaza on reading the public budget and writing economic news. Individuals in charge of this project insist that exchanging economic news is necessary for understanding the course of events related to the Palestinian economic situation.
Mr. Osama Nofal, instructor, stressed the need to have control and media accountability, but said that this could not be possible unless journalists had full understanding of economic terms and numbers that would help them to writing news items, reports, and articles related to the subject.
Participants expressed their views stressing the importance of holding workshops related to the mentioned subject providing them with skills to understand public budgets and analyze numbers included for work. They also thanked those in charge of carrying out this fruitful workshop which builds capacities of media personnel.
