Gaza – Prosecution General in Gaza signed a memorandum of cooperation and joint action with the Coalition for Integrity and Accountability – AMAN aiming at promoting integrity, transparency and development via legal awareness raising of members of the prosecution and beneficiaries of justice services in the area of integrity, transparency, accountability and anti-corruption.
Both parties stated that the Memorandum of Cooperation will help foster legal protection and mobilize community efforts to develop a legal and judicial system to combat corruption in the Gaza Strip. Cooperation will also involve formulation of plans and policies to strengthen the national integrity system and exert positive pressure to immune the Palestinians society against corruption by adopting transparency as a steady approach to public administration and accountability in Palestinian public institutions to combat corruption and serve public interest.
The Memorandum also covered a policy of transfer of corruption-related complaints received by AMAN to the public prosecution and implementation of activities on social accountability including hearing sessions, conferences, training of prosecutors and beneficiaries of justice services on integrity and transparency.
