Yousri Darwish

Yousri Darwish is a national and community leader who lives in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. He was born in September 1967 in Jabalia Refugee Camp and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Literature.

Darwish currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Union of Cultural Centers, a network of cultural institutions that includes 67 member organizations from Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. He also chaired the Palestinian National Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation for Intercultural Dialogue from 2013 to 2017, after serving as its Vice President from 2005 to 2012.

Throughout his career, Darwish has been dedicated to leading and strengthening the culture and arts sector in Palestine, with the aim of fostering a society that embraces creativity and cultural expression. He has also held various political positions within the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and served as a member of the Palestinian National Council.
