AMAN Coalition Opens Nominations for the 2026 Integrity and Anti-Corruption Awards

Ramallah/Gaza - The Coalition for Integrity and Accountability (AMAN) has announced the opening of nominations and self-nominations for the 2026 Integrity and Anti-Corruption Awards. The announcement reflects AMAN’s belief that safeguarding integrity and combating corruption are fundamental pillars for strengthening national resilience and building trust in institutions. It also comes in recognition of the individual and collective efforts that help defend and entrench the values of integrity, transparency and accountability in Palestinian society.

Building on this belief, the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Awards seek to honour inspiring examples of those who have embodied the values of integrity, professional courage and social responsibility in confronting corruption and defending the public interest. They also aim to highlight initiatives and efforts that have contributed to strengthening transparency and accountability and entrenching a culture that rejects corruption, thereby encouraging the wider adoption of positive practices and reinforcing citizens’ confidence in their ability to bring about change.

AMAN Coalition affirmed that the launch of these awards comes at an exceptional stage for the Palestinian people, marked by unprecedented political, economic and humanitarian challenges. These challenges have been exacerbated by the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation against the Gaza Strip, the escalation of policies of repression, settlement expansion and displacement in the West Bank, and the continuing severe financial crisis caused by the withholding and theft of Palestinian funds. Despite these conditions, Palestinians remain steadfast in upholding their national rights, their resilience on their land and their determination to build national institutions grounded in integrity, justice, accountability and the rule of law.

The Coalition explained that nominations and self-nominations will remain open until 30 October 2026, and that the awards are divided into three main categories:

First: The Integrity Award for public sector and local authority employees, granted to individuals who have reported suspected or actual cases of corruption, refused to engage in corrupt practices, provided testimony or information that helped expose corruption cases, or initiated procedures or initiatives that strengthened the integrity and anti-corruption system within their institutions.

Second: The Martyr Shireen Abu Akleh Award for Investigative Journalism, dedicated to journalists who have produced professional investigative reports addressing issues related to corruption, governance or public accountability, and which have contributed to uncovering the truth and strengthening social oversight.

Third: The Research Award in the Field of Integrity and Anti-Corruption, dedicated to researchers who have produced outstanding academic research that contributes to developing knowledge related to the integrity, transparency, accountability and anti-corruption system.

The Coalition noted that specialised technical committees will review nomination and self-nomination applications in accordance with pre-established and approved criteria and weightings. Their recommendations will then be submitted to AMAN’s Executive Management and the Jury, which includes independent national figures and public personalities, to make the final decision on the winners.

The winners will be announced during the National Integrity Ceremony organised by AMAN Coalition to mark International Anti-Corruption Day, which falls on 9 December each year.

AMAN Coalition calls on all public and civil society institutions, local authorities, media outlets, universities, scientific research centres and individuals to contribute to nominating models worthy of recognition. This reflects the will of Palestinians to protect integrity and uphold the values of accountability and transparency, and affirms that a people who reject corruption and remain committed to the values of justice and integrity are capable of resilience and victory despite all challenges.
