Slovenia anti-corruption team quits over ‘wall’ of opposition

Slovenia’s anti-corruption commission has resigned, alleging a lack of political support.

Its vice-president Rok Praprotnik said proposed changes to the law to clean up public life had been resisted by a “secret alliance” in parliament.

“We have hit a wall we cannot breach,” he added.

Successive governments have struggled to reduce the influence of Slovenian politicians in banks and businesses.
