Studies and Reports under preparation :.

  • Palestinian Legislations and Conflict Of Interest: Legislations in general and functional systems in specific require people who work in public positions to have transparency, integrity and honesty especially decision-makers on issues related to the public and to avoid anything that can cause the person to deviate from these criteria while favoring the personal interest over the public interest. Therefore, the legal regulations for several issues set restraints that would hinder the individual from favoring his interest over the public interest and to avoid the existence of conflict of interest.

AMAN will prepare a report on "Conflict of Interest" that tackles the following issues:

    -          the concept of “Conflict of Interest”

    -          the difference between this concept and other concepts related to integrity and transparency

    -          the general rules to avoid conflict of interest

    -          the international experience ( international conventions and national legislations) on dealing with the conflict of interest

    -          methods of avoiding conflict of interest in the Palestinian laws

    1.      economy laws

    2.      social laws

    3.      security laws

    4.      financial laws

    5.      job-related laws

    -          The Palestinian laws and legislations that the Palestinian legislator has overlooked including regulations in order to avoid the conflict of interest, and the suggested amendments.

    -          Conclusion and recommendations

  • AMAN started Conducting Research on Gaps in Local Legislation and Policies regarding anti corruption measures. The research will provide a comparative analysis of the UNCAC and the Palestinian legislation and public policies regarding anti corruption with the purpose of identifying where the Palestinian legislation and institutional policies comply with the UNCAC standards and where there are gaps that must be addressed.

  • AMAN started drafting 2 reports one on the “Impact of Corruption on Marginalized Groups” and the other on “Transparency, Accountability and Integrity within Security Forces” with the purpose of highlighting and bringing to public awareness on some corruptive practices in public policies.
