In cooperation with the Palestinian universities
AMAN holds awareness seminars on the Unites Nations Convention against Corruption

AMAN has organized for several seminars to be conducted in cooperation with Birzeit University, Al-Tireh college, and Palestine technical college in Ramallah as well as the American University in Jinin, Al Quds University in Abu Deis and Al-Aqsa and Al-Azhar universities in Gaza. The seminars introduced the UNCAC to over 300 students.

This event is part of a series of seminars to be held in many other universities and colleges in the West Bank and Gaza Strip during November and December in order to reach out to the youth and alert them about corruption in regards to the UNCAC.

During these seminars, the lecturers explained the concept of corruption, its components, causes and preventive measure for it. They also remarked the significant articles mentioned in the UNCAC, especially the articles that call on country members in the United Nations to ratify laws and policies that limit this phenomenon in all its forms.

It was elaborated that the United Nations Convention against Corruption is the only international legal document that covers the topic of corruption in this comprehensive way.

Finally, there was a discussion about the necessity of setting a national strategy to combat corruption that requires fighting corruption in all its forms and in all sectors that contribute to achieving a comprehensive development.
