Bank and Gaza Strip on the legal framework to combat corruption

The Coalition for Accountability and Integrity-Aman organized a training program that targeted law students in four universities in the West Bank and two universities in Gaza Strip, entitled "the legal framework for combating corruption in Palestine."

More than 150 students participated in the program which included six training sessions.  Participants included students from the universities of BirZeit, al-Quds, Arab-American, an-Najah, al-Azhar and the Islamic university.

Dr. Yasir al-Amori, head of the law department at BirZeit University, delivered the lectures in the West Bank universities, in four sessions held at the headquarters of "Sharek Youth Forum". As for Gaza, Mr. Salah Abdel Ati trained the students of al-Azhar University, while Mr. Abdel Rahman Al'osouli trained the students of the Islamic University, in two separate training sessions held at the Aman headquarters in Gaza.

During the program, the concept of "corruption" was defined, and corruption causes and forms were identified. Also, participants were introduced to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, where copies of this Convention were distributed to trainees, in addition to discussing and analyzing the content of the Convention. After discussion, recommendations were made on combating corruption, within the theoretical framework of the training.

At the end of each training course, certificates were given to participants who completed 7- training hours
