“World Unity against Corruption” is the motto adopted by Transparency International since its inception. Established in 1995 in Berlin, Transparency International (TI) is working to assist both governments and individuals who are seeking to live in the "Integrity Islands". Its establishment stemmed from the need to fight corruption after it became a wide-spread phenomenon, at the formal and informal levels in societies everywhere and the difficulties encountered to fight it, through institutions aiming to achieve corruption free societies in their regions.

TI’s mission is “to minimize corruption by promoting joint efforts world-wide to strengthen and enhance national and international integrity systems”.

Based on the above-mentioned, TI endorsed AMAN Coalition in 2006 making AMAN the third chapter in the Arab World; with Lebanon and Morocco preceding it. The endorsement was based on AMAN’s work in fighting corruption since its establishment in 2000.

Since its endorsement, AMAN has been participating actively in all regional and international TI activities such as the annual conference on transparency and meetings held with TI Arab chapters. AMAN also contributes to the preparation of the annual Global Corruption Report, issued by TI, by preparing the section on Palestine.

In addition, AMAN works in partnership with TI and the other TI Arab chapters in implementing joint programs and projects.  Currently, AMAN is implementing project MABDA (Measuring Anti-corruption Efforts and Building Demand for Effective National Integrity Systems in Egypt and the Arab World). The Program seeks to combine sophisticated research, strategic anti-corruption advocacy, follow-up activities, and tools for measuring, monitoring, and reporting on anti-corruption efforts in the Middle East and North Africa to support reform efforts in Egypt -- couched in a non-adversarial manner and in the context of the broader Arab world -- through well-crafted strategic statements, research and advocacy.

In addition, AMAN will be launching another project “Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre- ALAC”. This project aims at empowering victims and witnesses of corruption to make known their grievances; strengthening the ability and willingness of pertinent institutions to receive and act upon corruption related complaints submitted to them, and bringing about systemic legal, administrative and institutional improvements..
