The
NRO was first opened in Jericho, soon after the
conclusion of the Oslo
Agreements in 1994, after which it moved to Ramallah in 1996, where the
institutions of the Palestinian Authority are located. The NRO is
located in Al Bireh, Ramallah and comprises eight Dutch expatriate staff
and six Palestinian staff.
The core
activities of the NRO are centered around its development program as
well as political and socio-economic analysis and reporting to
facilitate Dutch foreign policy. The NRO provides
travelers to the Netherlands with practical information on the country
as well as visa and consular information.
