The Ministry of Labour announced that it will soon develop standards and
new regulations to curtail the existence of conflict of interest and
promote principles of transparency and accountability in the public
sector with regard to licenses obtained by institutes’ owners and
colleges. This came in the context of AMAN’s follow-up on its campaign
to avoid conflict of interest in the Palestinian ministries, and after
receiving numerous complaints in this regard.
The
ministry is keen avoiding conflict of interest between its own
operations and the work of its employees in their personal capacity as
it will work on eliminating this discrepancy.
