
On July 3rd,
AMAN held a farewell luncheon for both Ms. Grete Lochen - Deputy HOM
at the Norwegian Representative Office and Mr. Frans Makken –the
Netherlands Representative. Unfortunately, Mr. Makken could not
attend the lunch but was represented by both; Mr. Harry
Putker- First Secretary and Mr. Ziad Shariah- Development Program
Officer, and Ms. Raheeq Rinawi- Project Advisor at the Norwegian
Representative .
Members of AMAN’s Board
of Directors attended the lunch including Dr. Hanan Ashrawi- Head of
the Board, Dr. Lily Feidi- Secretary General of Miftah, Mr. Maher
Hamdan- General Director of Paltrade, and Dr. Azmi Al- Shuaibi-
AMAN’s Commissioner for Combating Corruption. AMAN’s Staff was
represented by the Executive Director Ms. Ghada Zughayar, Mr. Thaer
Abdallah -Financial Director, Mr. Isam Haj Husein- Administrative
Director and Ms. Sama Khalil, PR and Fundraising Officer.
This lunch was hosted by
AMAN’s Coalition in the honor of Mr. Makken and Grete Lochen who
have finished their term in Palestine and will be moving back to
their respective countries. Spokespersons from AMAN’s Coalition
expressed thanks and appreciation for the generous support of the
Norwegian and the Netherlands governments, which was made possible
based on the constant efforts and inspirational work of Mr. Makken
and Grete Lochen. They also praised the involvement of Mr. Makken
and Ms. Lochen in the Coalition’s life and cause.
In return, Ms. Lochen
thanked AMAN’s Coalition for the warm invitation and welcome by
which she was moved. She admired the hope and strength of the
Palestinian people despite the difficult situation they lead because
of the Israeli occupation. She also expressed how proud and happy
working with AMAN during the past years. She congratulated AMAN for
the distinctive work in combating corruption and reinforcing good
governance within the Palestinian Authority.
During the luncheon,
inspirational insights and viewpoints were expressed analyzing
international, regional and local politics and their impact on the
Palestinian Israeli conflict.
