AMAN Organizes a Workshop for International and Civil Society  Organizations Working in Palestine Date: May 30, 2006  The political and economic siege imposed on the Palestinian people had led to a drastic decline in the living standards of Palestinians and added to the deteriorating economic situation. 160, 000 employees working in the government sector were not given their salaries since the last PLC elections.   The Coalition for Integrity and Accountability- AMAN organized a workshop for international and civil society organizations working in Palestine. The workshop discussed mechanisms for ensuring a just and transparent distribution of donations and humanitarian aid.  Representatives of the different organizations agreed that the supply of aid and donations does not provide a solution to the Palestinian problem but rather a just political solution is needed. A wider meeting for all stakeholders will take place next week to set the standards for aid types, target groups, and geographical locations; as well as, a monitoring and follow-up system for such donations.      Copyright AMAN © 2007
