A Call for the Adoption of a Corporate Governance System

December 11, 2006

In a workshop organized by AMAN Coalition, experts and representatives of private enterprises called for the promotion of a Palestinian democratic system based on the rule of law as the starting point for adopting a good corporate governance system in Palestine. Participants stressed the importance of intensifying the work towards drafting a guidebook for corporate governance that would trigger enterprises to adopt a governance system in their work.

Also, it was pointed out that the adoption of a good governance system would help develop accountability and transparency in the work of enterprises. Such a system would promote foreign investment and would open a door for partnership between Palestinian and foreign companies.
