AMAN Organizes a Training Workshop on

 Investigative Journalism

June 11, 2006

AMAN organized a distribution of certificates ceremony towards the end of a training workshop that targeted 16 journalists in the presence of Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, PLC Member and Chairperson of  the Boards of AMAN Coalition and MIFTAH.

Dr. Ashrawi congratulated the participants on their achievement while stating that the training comes as part of AMAN’s and MIFTAH’s mission of combating corruption and their belief that media and investigative journalism are crucial for exposing it to the public. She stressed the need for the initiation of additional mechanisms for combating corruption as means for protecting citizen’s rights.

The training helped to lay down a common understanding of investigative journalism in Palestine. The trainees were able to practice investigative journalism in dealing with hot issues in the Palestinian arena such as; the state of insecurity, the misuse of government cars, media, and health insurance.
