A Draft Code of Conduct for Public Sector Employees

November 26, 2006.

The Coalition for Accountability and Integrity AMAN and the Palestinian Initiative for Global Dialogue & Democracy – MIFTAH issued a draft Code of Conduct for employees at the public sector. The draft resulted from joint efforts exerted by AMAN and MIFTAH towards strengthening integrity, transparency, and accountability in the work of the public sector.

Representatives of the General Personnel Council, Prime Minister’s Office, Financial and Administrative Control Bureau, and Union of public Employees participated in drafting the Code.

The Code serves as a guiding document for employees at the government sector on how to reach higher levels of integrity in their work. It urges employees to abide by the rules and regulations of the institutions they serve and calls on them to respect the rule of law and perform their duties in the most transparent and integrate manner.
