Believing in the role played by education in spreading and enhancing integrity values among youth, AMAN initiated an educational program in cooperation with Palestinian educational institution through:

  • Developing a University Course in cooperation with Birzeit University on good governance:

AMAN had developed the first draft of a university course on good governance and the national integrity system to be offered at Palestinian universities. The introduction of the course aims at educating university students on anti-corruption issues and thus involves them in the combat against corruption. The course is planned to be offered at Birzeit University first semester 2007/8.

  • Creating a virtual ethics, accountability, and transparency reference library on AMAN’s website:

AMAN established the first specialized resource center in Palestine that is specific to issues of corruption and good governance. The specialized resource center of AMAN was established as a clearinghouse for information related to corruption, transparency and accountability to be utilized by AMAN Coalition members, other CSOs, independent researchers, the media and other sectors. Current efforts are being made to upgrade this resource center through creating a virtual reference library on AMAN’s website.

  • Conducting training workshops for school teachers to enhance their abilities in introducing anti-corruption concepts in the learning process:

AMAN conducted four training workshops that targeted over 100 UNRWA and private school teachers so far. Teachers were trained on how to introduce anti-corruption concepts in the learning process.

  • Teaching Integrity to Youth Program:

 - Participation in Summer Camps:

AMAN seeks to utilize summer camps to spread anti-corruption concepts and to equip children participating at these camps with the values and experiences needed to develop their behavior in a positive and constructive manner. AMAN implemented a program in the summer camps of 2006 that encourages drama, cultural activities, and creative writing as means towards raising children’s awareness against corruption. The Project targeted 3000 children ages 8- 12 in 30 summer camps.

AMAN’s participation in these camps included conducting an Anti-corruption training for around 30 youth who latter participated in the summer camps as leaders in special anti-corruption sessions and the distribution of anti-corruption educational material kits for kids that included:

- Al-Hares ‘the Guard’ short story that conveys lessons of integrity and accountability for kids. The motif behind the story shows how practicing favoritism negatively affects the development of a society.

-  A special coloring book, Salah and Taleh.

- Anti-corruption educational booklet.

-  A special newsletter entitled “Anti-Corruption Summer Camps”.

 - Al-Hares Puppet Show for Kids:

Al-Hares is a puppet show based on a short story that conveys lessons of integrity and accountability for kids. The motif behind the story shows how practicing favoritism negatively affects the development of a society. The showing of the play marks an innovative attempt in utilizing drama in tackling the issue of corruption for kids. The shows tackle issues of corruption, nepotism, and favoritism in the Palestinian society. The beginning of these performances started with four showings for 600 school children between 10-13 years old at Al-Kasaba Theater in Ramallah. The show was performed at 42 schools in the West Bank to more than 10,000 school children
